This series began as a way to process the loss of my grandmother, who passed away in June 2024. In London, I struggled to speak about grief—it felt private, even shameful. Seeking another perspective, I travelled to Mexico for Día de los Muertos, returning to my Latin roots. There, I witnessed death embraced with colour, joy, and laughter. Families gathered at graves, sharing food and music, transforming cemeteries into places of connection rather than absence. The experience shifted how I understand mourning—not as something to survive alone, but as a continuation of love and memory. These photographs reflect that transformation: an invitation to see death not as an ending, but as a celebration of life.
